meet the doctor

READ OUR MISSION STATEMENT >

Hi, my name is Mark Myers, also known as the QUAD DOCTOR of the Quad Cities (hence my company’s name -- Quad City Quad Doctor). I just wanted to take a moment to introduce myself. I want to thank you for taking the time to visit my site. I look forward to meeting each one of you as I help you reach your goal of top quad performance.

Just who is the Quad Doctor you ask?

I am a former bike and quad racer, an ASE Certified Master Auto mechanic by trade, farm boy at heart, and a business owner who daily applies all of my mechanical knowledge to doing what I love to do --- making quads faster, more powerful, and more fun to ride.

I was born and raised on my family’s farm in the tiny town of Chambersburg, Illinois (population about 200 if you count the farm animals as kids). I am married to my beautiful wife, Jennifer. We have four wonderful children and live in the small, quiet county town of Annawan, Illinois.

I began riding at age 3 when my uncle gave me a mini bike with a Briggs and Stratton engine. I started racing competitively when I was 7 years old and spent the next twenty years racing all over the United States. 12 years ago, I was involved in a racing accident that resulted in a complete knee replacement and ended my motocross racing. It was then that I discovered the world of quads.

After growing up on dirt bikes, I was disappointed with the lack of power, speed, and upgrade performance parts available for quads.   The suspension was also a big concern.  I was determined to make my quad faster, more powerful, and improve the suspension to make it comparable to the Dirt Bikes I was used to racing. I became passionate about quads and rode daily, making adjustments to my quad’s carburetor, tweaking the jetting, modifying parts, and learning how the suspension worked and reacted to adjustments. It didn’t take long before my quad could out perform all of my buddies’ bikes.

As I continued to learn how to modify my quad, I found very few individuals who were knowledgeable in the field of quad performance. Sales reps from larger mail order companies were of little to no help. They couldn’t tell me why one manufacturer’s part was better or worse than another company’s similar part. I found local dealerships tended to specialize in selling new quads and general maintenance, but knew very little (if anything) about performance upgrades. To fill this void in the world of quad performance sales and service, I started Quad City Quad Doctor. My goal was to provide a one-stop shop for quad performance enthusiasts.  I have spent time with Custom Axis in classes learning how Axis shocks work., how spring and valving changes affect shock performance, and how to properly set up quad suspension.  I recently attended some classes with Lazurus Sommers, the owner of GT Thunder, in order to obtain more information on quad suspension.  Laz is one of the top names in ATV suspension tuners/builders.  I have spent countless hours testing quads to ensure I can give you the best possible information on how to make your quad better.

From complete motor rebuilds to suspension servicing and tuning, I can provide you with the parts, service, and knowledge you need to improve your quad’s performance. If you have questions about which parts and/or services are best suited for your particular quad, I will take the time to answer your questions. I have spent the last twelve years becoming an expert in the field of quad performance, so that I can provide you with the best service available in today’s competitive quad market. Whether you are a competitive racer or a weekend recreation rider, I look forward to helping you with your quads needs.
